Requirements for materials, pipe, and fittings are included.Note: Polyolefin includes both polyethylene and polypropylene plastics.1.2These requirements apply to pipe and fittings that are to be joined by heat fusion using the joiningequipment supplied by the manufacturer. This Standard is not intended to provide forinterchangeability between plastic pipe and fittings from different manufacturers, but it does allow fortransition fittings used to join one manufacturer?s product to another?s, provided that the joiningtechnique is other than heat fusion. For guidance on fusion joints and aboveground and undergroundinstallations, refer to Appendix A.1.3Systems having features differing from or additional to those covered by this Standard should beinvestigated to determine whether they comply with the intent of this Standard.B181.5-02Coextruded ABS/PVC Drain, Waste, and Vent Pipe1. Scope1.1This Standard applies to coextruded thermoplastic drain, waste, and vent (DWV) pipe with an outer layerof acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and an inner layer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or with outer andinner layers of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and a core of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), to be usedwith fittings, accessories, and solvent cement meeting the requirements of CSA Standard B181.1.1.2This Standard includes requirements for materials, quality of work, dimensions and tolerances, impactstrength, chemical resistance, water resistance, dimensional stability, compression strength, extrusionquality, and bond strength.Note: Recommended storage, handling, and installation practices for coextruded ABS/PVC DWV pipe are provided inAppendix A. The values given in parentheses are forinformation only.B182.2-02PVC Sewer Pipe and Fittings (PSMType)1. ScopeThis Standard provides requirements and test methods for materials, dimensions, quality of work, pipestiffness, quality control, joining systems, and marking for SDR 28, 35, and 41 Type PSM PVC sewer pipeand fittings.Notes:(1) Industrial waste disposal lines should be installed only with specific approval of the regulatory authority, sincechemicals not commonly found in drains and sewers, and temperatures in excess of 60?C (140?F), may be encountered.(2) Nominal pipe size is indicated by an NPS designation, and actual dimensions are given in millimetres. For example,a pipe of NPS-10 size will be nominally 10 inches in diameter.1.2The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given in parentheses are forinformation only.B182.4-02Profile PVC Sewer Pipe and Fittings1. ScopeThis Standard provides requirements and test methods for materials, dimensions, quality of work, pipestiffness, quality control, joining systems, and a form of marking for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) profilesewer pipe and fittings of pipe stiffness PS70 and PS320, based on controlled inside diameter.Notes:(1) Pipe and fittings produced to meet the requirements of this Standard should be installed in accordance withCSA Standard B182.11.(2) Industrial waste disposal lines should be installed only with the specific approval of the regulatory authority, sincechemicals not commonly found in drains and sewers may be encountered, as well as temperatures in excess of 60?C.(3) For use of PS70 pipe, the appropriate regulatory authority should be consulted.B182.6-02Profile Polyethylene Sewer Pipe andFittings for Leak-Proof SewerApplications1.
