These services offer special-interest discussion groups and large collections of data to their members. Increasingly, being on the Internet means easy access to the World Wide Web, through which users can gain access to material from computers worldwide. AWWA has a presence on the Internet, as do other professional associations, state and federal government agencies, universities, manufacturers of supplies for the water industry, environmental groups, publications, and consulting firms. A five-page directory of web site addresses for these information sources is included in this article.
