Starke, Robert E.
Full Description
With pumping equipment becoming more costly to replace, proper maintenance to extend pump life increases in importance. A well- planned maintenance program that is followed on a timely basis will be highly successful in extending operating life. There are several maintenance items presented by the author to be considered when a program for pumps is set up. They include: lubrication; shaft leakage control--packing or mechanical seals; coupling alignment; performance check; spare parts; and record keeping.
