Journal Article by American Water Works Association, 03/01/1987
Effler, Steven W.
Full Description
Turbidity associated with whiting (carbonate precipitates in water columns) has been observed to be a significant component of turbidity in hard-water lakes and reservoirs. A description of the character of whiting is presented, including the related chemistry, driving forces for occurrence, ubiquity of the phenomenon, and features of importance to water suppliers. A simple technique is recommended for determining turbidity caused by whiting. Includes 21 references, figures.
