Full Description
This paper documents a comprehensive energy efficiency evaluation of the Oklahoma City Water utility. An Excel spreadsheet was used to determine how much money could be saved in power costs for the 100 mile Atoka Raw Water Pipeline. Several different simulations were examined under the existing rate schedule including new operating strategies and equipment upgrades. It was found that using suggested operational recommendations together with equipment upgrades, annual power costs can be reduced by as much as $774,000 per year under the existing rate schedule.
