Full Description

This standard specifies performancerequirements for high-visibility vests for use bypublic safety workers. High visibility public safetyvests are intended to provide conspicuity of theuser in hazardous situations under any lightconditions by day and under illumination byvehicle headlights in the dark.

Performance requirements are included forcolor, retroreflection, and minimum areas, aswell as the suggested configuration of highlyvisible materials used in the construction of highvisibilitypublic safety vests. Test methods areprovided in the standard to ensure that aminimum level of visibility is maintained whenitems are subjected to ongoing care procedures.
