The high-impact machine (Flyweight) for electronic devices specified in this standard is of the hammer and anvil type. This device is capable of a wide range of shock- induced acceleration and is used for determining the shock resistance capabilities of very small to medium- sized electron tubes and other electronic devices. For the purpose of this standard, this machine willbe referred to as the Flyweight Machine. This standard specifies procedures for the assembly, maintenance, celibration, and operation of the basic Flyweight Machine. The purpose of this standard is to assure reasonably uniform performance among machines of this type.
