ASA S2.15-1972 (R2001) [ Withdrawn ] American National Standard Specifications for the Design, Construction, and Operation of Class HI (High-Impact) Shock-Testing Machine for Lightweight Equipment
standard by American National Standards of the Acoustical Society of America, 01/01/1986
Purpose. The Class HI shock- testing machine for lightweight equipment is used to determine the over- all shock resistance ofcomponents, equipments, and materials. Although it was originally designed to most closely simulate those severe shockconditions imposed on shipborne equipment in naval service, its extended application in evaluating the ruggedness of equipmentfor general military field service and transportation has indicated its usefulness as a laboratory tool for insuring rugged, reliableequipment. In light of the extreme complexity inherent in service shock phenomena, it must be emphasized that exact laboratorysimulation or correlation is not readily attainable. However, experience has indicated that equipment which successfullywithstands the shock loadings imposed by this machine generally has satisfactory performance in the field. Product Details
